Or vice versa, the hot mass is added to the cold mass. The latter option is used when whipped egg whites are infused with hot syrup.

It is extremely difficult to whip all the ingredients by hand. To get a homogeneous structure, you will need a mixer.

For even heating without burning, choose a thick-walled pan with a multi-layered bottom. It is acceptable to introduce starch into the recipe instead of flour. To ensure that the sweet mixture is guaranteed to thicken, the substitute is added in the volume of one and a half times more than the flour.


To make a classic custard you will need:

  • 0.5 l of milk;
  • 200 gr. sugar;
  • 100 gr of butter;
  • 50 gr of flour;
  • A pinch of vanilla;
  • two eggs.

How to prepare:

  1. Beat eggs with a whisk in a saucepan with sugar, flour, and vanilla.
  2. Pour in milk in a thin stream, stirring constantly.
  3. Put the pot on the stove. Heat on a burner with minimum heat, stirring continuously. Bring to a boil, remove from heat.
  4. Stir in the butter until it melts and leave the mixture to cool.

To preserve the homogeneity of the product, cover the pan with clingfilm.

How long does custard keep in the refrigerator

Homemade custard dessert is a perishable product. In the refrigerator at t - 2-6 ° C retains consumer properties up to one day or 72 hours, if the composition does not include a little cream. The product is stored in enamel, glass, ceramic containers or plastic containers.

The main condition is the tightness of the container. If the container is not closed with a lid, plate or film, the cream, in contact with oxygen, oxidizes faster, gets absorbed by foreign odors.

Using the dessert after the expiration date is a health hazard, a risk of food poisoning by a protein product.
